best 2D card under $50, which?

I run win98, mainly into web/MS office work. Looking for a used video card.

would like opinions on which AGP card to get.

Matrox G200 or G400 if you can find one used for $50.

I think you will find that nearly everyone will agree on this one(a rarity;)).

Yup, Matrox pretty much rules the roost in terms of 2d. It's a shame they're not quite so dominent in terms of 3d speed (yet) :)

pci matrox millenium - computergeeks.com has 'em on occasion, or check fs/ft boards. should sell for $15 or so.

cool I was gonna ask almost the same question...BUT what is a best NEW card for 2d stuff and where can I get them.

if you want a fairly recent card, get an ATI xpert 2000, or if you can get one a rage128 pro based 16meg card. The latter would have much better 3d than a g200 , and the former would be pretty good also
