Best 27" monitor I should buy

I need some recommendations on good 27" monitors for video editing and everyday general use.

Thank you for the help

I'm a big fan of my Dell U3011. If the U2711 is anything like the U3011 you'll be a happy man. You can usually call Dell and get them to take %30 off the list price if you talk to them long enough.

NEC PA271W
It's IPS with 2560x1440 res, and it's slightly higher end than the Dell, but likely not worth it over the Dell unless you're a demanding user.

Thinking of getting the U2711 myself but don't see many deals for it. What is consider a good price for the U2711 anyway?

Apple's 27" is shiny and looks nice but the glossy screen makes it seem like your staring into a mirror. For video editing I highly recommend a matte display such as the NEC PA series or the DellU2711. I'm currently using a Dell U2410 and when I had my imac 27" before returning it I would always find myself using the dell monitor instead.

Read too many complains about the anti-glare coating on the Dell. That scared me away because I do read alot with the monitor. As for the glossy screen, I have a couple of laptops with the glossy screen and I don't have an issue with it. Also, I have seen the Apple 27" in the Apple store and it was fine to me.

Got my Apple LCD today. The smaller pixel pitch is not bad. I guess I am used to my even smaller pixel pitch from my laptop. It's like a mirror when it's off or with dark background but it doesn't bother me. It does suck that there is no power button and you need a bootable Windows 7 disc in the DVD drive to be able to launch Apple Control Panel to adjust the brightness. Good thing I don't need to adjust it often.

I own an NEC PA271W. I love the insane menu options and the fine-tuning that the monitor allows.

Prior to the purchase, I was also looking into the Apple 27" and the Dell U2711, but in the end I eliminated the Apple because of the glossy screen and limited connectivity options, and then eliminated the Dell due to issues with QA and lack of deep pro controls.

The PA271W was pretty much the king at the time that I bought it. However, if you really want to go uber, Eizo's newest model in their ColorEdge professional line is the CG275W, their 27" competitor. This is allegedly the new king, however Eizo prices are really high, and unless your computer display is closely tied with your career, it probably isn't worth it.

I've got Iiyama B2712HDS 1080p. It's very good, one of the few affordable 27 inchers that have a proper stand with height adjustment and rotation. Image quality, contrast and colors are all good for a TN panel. I love it
