I am looking for the absolute best picture with all kinds of broadcasts. Analog, digital or HD. I receive all of my TV from Dish Network. Not looking for the cheapest or most expensive either. Just the best picture I can get. Can't use anything larger because of space limitations. It will replace a 20"Panasonic CRT that there is nothing wrong with. Just not big enough for my old eyes.

I'm curious as to which one you purchased?

Like you I couldn't find a good one either! They all seemed to do that thing where the screen goes black when looking up at it. The big panels don't seem to do this.

A Panasonic TC-26LX70 was the best according to reviews I read. The pricing was my hangup. I could buy some 32's for near the same price. I shall see later this week, when it gets here, how it compares with the Viewsonic and Sharp LCD's I already have.

i'm bumping this up.

we're looking for a 26-28 inch LCD TV. we're not sure what brand, but sony is probably at the top of the list, and unfortunately, the top of the price range. i would consider a 32" but it does not fit in our very small living room, and it is impossible to wall mount as we just don't have the space in this tiny apartment now.

what are things we should look for?
what are other brands we can look at? no olevia, no westinghouse. we will consider vizio.

we will eventually get a larger TV, but not until we move later in the year with a normal shaped living room and a fireplace that actually is condusive to mounting items on it. this TV will then turn into either a bedroom TV, or a video games/"DARN YOU i want to watch figure skating" tv.

freesia39, I have had the Panasonic 26" now for about 3 weeks. I couldn't be any happier. It is the best one I own!! I have even considered purchasing TC-32LX70 one that the same specs. Any one want a Viewsonic 32 that is 18 months old, for like $400??
