Best 256mb CF card for the Canon A70

I just ordered a Canon A70, and was wondering if anyone has any advice for me as far as which CF cards are the best and which ones to stay away from.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 🙂

theyre all the same

the speed of the card wouldnt be the bottle neck unless we're talking file transfer from PC <-> CF... not camera<->cf

Correct you are. Current flash cards have an almost 2x faster transfer rate than most cameras can support. So the bottleneck in 98% of cases is the camera, not the flash memory.

You don't need to spend more than you have to.
Chances are A70 is not optimized to use high speed CF.
Just get a regular CF, probably Lexar if you are picky.

I have an A70 and I've got a Crucial 256MB card. Seems to work great in the camera and in a USB 2.0 reader. However, I bought from Crucial because I've been buying from them for years and always get a quality product at a fair price.

I have a Canon S200

and I use a Viking 512mb and a Sandisk 256mb

I can shoot much more continous shots with the Viking than the Sandisk

The 8mb card that came with my A40 lets me take 20-30 seconds of 320x200 video. The 256mb card I bought only lets me take about 12-15 seconds...so I think the 256mb is a bit slower. It was only 35 bucks, though..so..heh

Well I just bought a Kingston 256mb compact flash card from Kingston.com for 55 bucks and a 15 dollar MIR. What a bargain. Got the link from the Hot Deals forum from Anandtech Deals dude
Thanks

Good choice, I have always had good luck with Kingston RAM and CF media.
