Best ~256GB SSD for under $1000?

Hi everyone,

I just picked up a 17" MacBook Pro Core i7, and plan to install a ~256GB SSD.

Can you recommend an 2.5" SATA II-compatible SSD assuming a price ceiling of $1000? It appears that the usual "no brainer" choice of the intel X-25 drive only allows for a maximum of 160GB, but I need a bit more than that.

Thanks,

Dan

Indilinx based drives have been around for a while and user tested. Or you can go for the newer Crucial C300. Faster, but it's new so may be buggy.

C300 wins here, until we start seeing some 256GB Sandforce 1500 drives.
