How is a monitor with the amount of input lag that the 2408WFP has a good gaming monitor?

I'd have to go with the lg l246wp, the one they no longer make with the mva panel. No input lag, picture quality as good and better than the 2408, hdmi, component and vga inputs etc.

Too bad they don't make them anymore, they were losing money on them.

The new revision supposedly helps with the input lag issue significantly.

The Dell 2408wfp is your best bet, the samsung mva panel is similar but pricier, and the one I use, BenQ Fp241W is similar but no longer in manufacture. I'd get the Dell. Input lag is overrated, color reproduction and viewing angles are underrated.

Love my HP LP2475, a little pricey but the viewing angles are great, not to mention the colour accuracy ( I do photoshop quite often).

I was leaning towards the BenQ G2400WD because I've had 19" BenQ's for 4 years and they've been outstanding monitors. But I bought a pair of 2408WFPs instead. A bit pricey, but these are awesome monitors.

I'd recommend the HP 2475w over the dell 2408. Less input lag, better response time, great stand, great hookups, and it's a H-IPS, vs. a S-PVA. Can be had for a little less than $600.

the A01 2408wfp and 2475w have the same amount of lag. actually the dell is slightly better at 16-32ms (min/max), vs the hp at 33ms average (meaning it would have had to dip into the 45 ms max lag range). both have roughly the same video in connections(displayport incl.) the stands have the same range of movement (maybe not as much vertical extension on the dell), and the most recent sale had the dell at $450(less with coupons/codes).

If you leave out the HP 24" LP2475w and the Dell 24" 2408WFP because of cost...

Then, for 'bargain' priced 24" GAMING-ONLY monitor(1920x1200), are these the choices?
BenQ G2400WD- @ $389.
Asus MK241H- @ $280.
Acer G24- @ $360.
Samsung 2443BWX- @ $250.

Are there others to consider... (Gaming only, 1920x1200)

If wife sees cost of the Dell($600.) or the HP($600.) on the Mastercard, I think I would get 'waterboarded'...

You know, Dell DOES have a monthly payment plan so she doesn't need to see it all at once...
