can this monitor do 1920 X 1080 or does it max out at 1680 X 1050?

I'd like to know if anyone here knows the difference between the sammy 226BW and sammy 226NW. the BW is listed as $350 CAD at futureshop and the NW is on sale for $330 (reg. $370). I know price isn't always an indicator of quality, but is the NW any different than the BW?
I was also looking at the BenQ FP222WH, its ony $269 at canadacomputers, but their return policy for defective panels aren't really that good.

it's ok, the LCD would be for gaming only, I have my 57" HDTV for watching my HD DVD and Blu-ray movies.

I bought this for my 8800GTX/Q6600 rig:

Viewsonic VG2230WM

There are lots of LCD's out there, lots of opinions. Sure there are better monitors. But this 22" was in my price range and had key features I wanted: tilt, swivel and height adjustments, 5ms, 1680x1050. Both text and games look great. Zero dead pixels. And unlike previous Samsungs, pic looks good outside native resolution.

It ships in a tank of a box, something to consider. I checked it out locally at Fry's first. Box was quite impressive. Even UPS would have a hard time fu#$ing it up...

sorry but that makes no sense to me. panels made by different manufacturers look and perform differently whether they are TN or not. otherwise we might as well all just buy the cheapest model possible in each give size.

Not true...TN is just a panel, the other circuitry is variable.

The 226BW outperforms the L226WTQ majorly as far as not ghosting goes.

I'm not so sure about that. In the beginning the early LG models had the ghosting problems and Samsung had some panel lottery problems. The LG226 models have fewer ghosting problems now since firmware v1.14. thats why i went with the LG over the Samsung. Although I lean towards the L226 as the better they are probably pretty close to even now. I figure its just a matter of time before someone outdoes these two LCDs. Acer is coming on strong lately so maybe it'll be Acer?
