6800 is the best i can find under $200. Unless the GTO is out in AGP but I don't think it is; ZZF has one out of stock, but nowhere else mentions it.

Either an X800XL or a 6800GT ... its very close but I think the GT gets a slight edge.

Theres a 256mb 6800GT AGP for $240 on Pricewatch right now & I've seen one recently for $219 (I'll post link if I can find it) ...the X800XL is listed at $239, but I've seen those cheaper too... otherwise plan B is the X800 Pro or a toss-up between the 128mb 6800 & the 6600GT as mentioned earlier.. I'd certainly suggest spending $40 more for either of the first two though.

Click the link for the $240 agp 6800gt...lowest is actually over $300. Pricewatch isn't what it used to be.

I've never seen an agp x800xl in stock for $239. Lowest I can find currently is $270-280

I wouldn't compare the 6800 and the 6600gt, even if the latter is 256mb. IMO the 6800 will still out perform due to having more pp and vertex shaders. Also, the 6800 vanilla is generally superior, from a price/performance standpoint, to the x800 pro, from that I can find: $60-70 less expensive with slightly slower clocks and 1 fewer vertex shader, having also 3.0 support, for what that's worth ;)

Please feel free to contradict me (with links) here as i'm actually researching the best $200 agp upgrade myself :)

Edit: Ooops... typo on Pricewatch for the 6800GT.. click on link & its like $300 & the X800XL is PCI-E, not AGP... thats what I get for staying up all night!

Looks like the 128mb 6800 or the X800 Pro is your best bet right now ... some people have had sucess flashing the 6800 to a 6800GT as well, although theres no garauntee it will work... hang in till x'mas & I'll have a 6800GT for around $200 for you though!

There are crap choices for $200 for AGP. $150 and lower and you have the 6800nu, $250 and higher you get x800xl and 6800GT. ~$200 sucks. I bought a used 6800nu that unlocks and comes with a nvSilencer for $160. The absolute best thing would be to look for a used x800pro that's been flashed to xt for about $200. There's a regular $170 x800pro lying around FS/FT, too. I guess the pro would be the best performance for this segment.
