I need a pair of speakers for my comp; I don't want to spend TOO much and I don't need hi-fi/THX/5.1 holycrapomgloud type of speakers either.

Just a decent pair, preferably black/wood color that doesn't sound like the wrong end of a flatulent mule.

Suggestions? I really like the HK Champagne speakers but they're a bit overpriced. By about $50.

there's a pair of speakers made by altec lansing that is excellent. Sometimes they're cobranded as IBM but the model is Altec Lansing 345. It's a really nice 3 piece set. I just did a quick search and it looks like e-bay is the only place to find them, so if you're not in a hurry just do a search for: altec 345 and a couple will pop up. I've gotten 2 for various computers for around $30 each and they're very close to being as good as my klipsch 2.1's. that's my opinion.

I have some Yamaha MST80s here ... 50watt subwoofer and 15 watts per satelite ... they aro about 4 years old (so they may have been discontinued) ... but they sound very good. I recommend Yamaha

EDIT... I bought them back in the valueamerica days. Got a $100 pair of speakers for like 30 bucks ...
