Best 2.1 Speakers

memo

In light of my current speakers blowing out I've looked at trying to get in on the logitech z2200 deal in hot deals but no luck yet. i've heard the klipsch are always good but are they any better because of their name? what are some of the better 2.1s out there?

the 2200's CRUSH. ...and if you can get them for $54 AR like a lot of people then they sound just a bit nicer... 🙂

midiland S2-4100, discontinued but very good. when it comes to 2.0, swan T200s seem to get overwhelmingly good reviews but their cost is somewhat prohibitive. newegg carries their little brother, m200s at a pretty decent price. i am kinda tempted to snag me a pair when they are finally back in stock 😱

Telex 2.1's, mwave was selling the 4.1s for $180 a while back, too bad they don't carry them anymore. or those are definately klipsch killers.
Or M-Audio have some nice 2.0 monitors now...

yea the z2200's seem pretty sweet or megaworks 211 or 215, but that costs more. http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com/store/category.cgi?category=mul_speakers&item=k1pkm22zz&type=store

400 MSRP for a 2.1 :Q

insane and not worth it

its a different class of speaker. the speakers themselves have 5" woofers themselves u know. you think thats expensive? thats nothing in the world of audio. if you like music, its not that bad of an investment. people easily shell out more on monitors, speakers last for years, and you use it all the time. its not like a rarely used scanner or something.

just a question in general for these speakers, say i were to get a klipsch 2.1, can i turn it into a 4.1 if i buy two more satellites?

What a quick and silly assumption. Connected to a proper stereo card, like an EMU or Lynx, these can easily provide some of the best sound you can buy.
