Yes. They have very nice, tuneful bass. If you're looking for exagerated bass boom, look at the Labtec Pulses. They are the best bang for the buck for bloated, boomy, loud midbass if that's what you're after.

Another suggestion - Altec Lansing ATP-3. I've been using a set for a few months now, and they're great. Also heard good things about Altec's ACS-48s, but I've never seen them in a store, and only in a few on-line shops.

Amazon.com has the Boston Acoustics BA-4800's for $113.75. With a little research you can find a $10 off coupon, and a free shipping coupon... Bringing the total price down to less than $104.

You aren't going to do any better for less than $250 (arguably more).

I understand that you don't necessarily want four speakers... Neither do I, so I have the four satellites on my desk. If nothing else, you could just take the two rear speakers and put them in storage (or sell them.)

But the BA-4800's really are an excellent set of speakers. Imho, I like them better than the Klipsch... But that's just personal preference.

The Cambridge speakers have nice bass if you point the sub into a wall or towards a corner.

You can get the Three Piece version for just $35. They are quite nice imho. I have the 5 piece ones, which are also available from that vendor.
