Hey everyone :D

I am looking at getting a new computer and monitor soon. I am curious who has had good luck with what monitors? I looked at a few and found good reviews etc for Viewsonic, Samsung, Hitachi, and a few others. I dont really want to spend over $350 and do mostly gaming on my computer..I think a 19" will be about right...Have a 17" now and would like a little bigger....Let me know what you think.....Any information will help. Monitors you like and also where to find them would be great.

Thanks

Yep Samsung 900NF is a great monitor.. (mine's scratched, ~.~) Anyway, you can get it from Dell's site for about $330, with the 15% off of course ^^ -- I'm trying to get an RMA on mine, if it doesn't work, I guess I'll buy the monitor, but I managed to get a Nokia 445XPro for about $329 shipped, that I'm happy.. ah well, finished my ranting.

<< DF=?? >>

DynaFlat. Flat face, curved tube. Actually, the NF is curved internally as well. The difference between the NF and DF is that the DF is internally curved Horizontally AND Vertically while the NF is only internally curved horizontally. Both units have flat exterior surfaces. The other difference is that the NF is an aperture grill monitor and the DF is a shadow mask unit. The only truly flat inside and out CRT is the LG flatron line.

I got my eyes on 900NF. I'm getting two (on my Matrox G450) as soon as I get my tax return.

Is there a significant difference between DF and NF? Other than the refresh rate.

I am mostly concerned about the clarity of text at high resolutions, although good colour saturation does matter also. Is NF worth the extra $$$?

I like that Hitachi CM721FB that you speak of bunnyfubbles. Does anyone else have this monitor? The HITACHI CM721F or the CM721FB? Not a bad price and 5 year warrenty looks good. I also like the Sony CPD-420S and Samsung 900NF. Thanks for the advice all.
