I'm in the market for a 19" monitor. I've been looking at the Samsung SyncMaster 950P which I can get for $262 or the Viewsonic A90 which I can get for about $280. Which of these 2 would be the better choice? Are there other ones that anyone would recommend. Thanks!

I am a Samsung user and their customer service is the best. :) I vote for the 900nf though. ;)

The Samsung 950P. It's a great monitor for a real nice price but it's not a flat screen. If you don't mind a regular CRT then go ahead with the 950p. But personally, if you're going to upgrade to a nice new 19" which you would hopefully have for 3+ years, I'd get a better one. Samsung 900nf... that's about $390 after a $30 rebate. Quite a bit more expensive that the two listed though.

Hey people who are recommending the 900NF, could you tell me where you're getting them for 300$??? I'd buy one at that price.

LXi is right, the 955df si more likely to be in that price range, and is still a very good monitor.

Is the 900NF $100.00 better than the 950P? If so, why? If it's truly that much better then perhaps the extra $100 would be worth it. Thanks :)

I think it is. The 900NF uses an Aperture Grill tube (Mitsubishi Diamondtron, sort of like the Sony Trinitrons) which means it has better color saturation. It's also a flat screen, which is really nice.

Ok. I'm sold on the 900NF. I found it at outpost.com for 419 with a $30 rebate and free overnight delivery. Has anyone used outpost.com? This sounds too good to be true. Should I bite?

While I haven't ordered anything as big as a monitor, I have ordered a few things from outpost.com including an HP digital camera. They have done a good job of shipping and the free overnight delivery is a nice touch (just don't count on it around Christmas, when they are buried!) If they had a monitor I was interested in at the right price, I would not hesitate to order one from them.

I've placed the order with outpost.com. I couldn't pass up the free overnight delivery. And I think that $389 (after the $30 mail in rebate) is worth it based on the posts in this thread. I can't wait to get it!! Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. :)
