Best 17" monitor?

i'm looking for a 17" monitor but i don't have much money.
i'm looking at this monitor here. it's a Optiquest Q71. Has any body had much luck with this monitor. Any body know any better monitors. i have 185 to spend. that's with shipping too.

AOC monitors are quite good, and should be right around that price range. Very good refresh rates (mine is at 85 Hz @1152xwhatever). It won't knock your socks off, but it's a very solid unit.

I have used many optiquest and they are fine. viewsonics under the covers.

I suggest the samsung 753df. It's $186 shipped from emscomputing (that's where I got it from) and samsung is giving a $40 rebate so the final price is $146.

Absolutely no need to settle for a lowly Optiquest. You can get a much better monitor with $185.

I like LXi's list. Try and find a place with free shipping or with a flat-rate such as Egghead so you can spend more on the monitor and keep it under $185.

I won't say its the best, but I bought a Viewsonic E771 for about %150 a year ago, and have been very happy with it. I work with Compaq V70's and have seen about 300 of em, and none of em can beat my E771 that I have at home. Compared to my two bigger monitors that I have on other systems, this monitor holds its own very well on picture quality. It's actually quite a bit sharper than my 19 incher that I paid 730 bucks for (3.5 years ago anyways).
