Best 17" LCD?

Whats the best 17" LCD for about $400, or whats a good site with reviews for monitors? Thanks.

At Staples, the Samsung Syncmaster and the 17" NEC are both pretty good.

I think Dell is having some major good deals on their 17" panels, check out dell.com.

I was reading the review for the Samsung Syncmaster (one of them) on this site, with the 12ms response time, and its 6-bit instead of 8-bit, is that a big drawback?

6-bit vs 8-bit? I'm not sure what that's referring to. I'd say, definately go down to a store (CompUSA, Best Buy, etc) and look at what's on display. The quality difference is huge. Some have horrible viewing angles (like, some of the lower-end models you have to sit right in front of or else the colors don't look right), some aren't very bright, etc. Go down to a store and pick out one that you really like and then check out prices online.
