Best 17" LCD monitor for the money with low response time?

I'm been outa the PC hardware community for a while. Where can I find a good quality (brand) 17in LCD monitor with a low response time for gaming? I dunno, I assume 15ms is good for gaming?

And around how much am I looking at?


Sorry if you get these questions a lot, but I'm in the market for a new monitor.

For teh money the Hitachi CML174 it uses the same panel as the Viewsonic vp171B,nec1760 but cost less.

16ms is the fastest at the moment you can get LCD wise,the good thing with the Hitachi CML174 is you get the DVI lead included,with the NEC 1760 models that`s not included.

Pricewatch.com has it from $445-$485.

I got the ViewSonic VP171b from Dell for $465 shipped. Fantastic monitor, I highly recommend it. One more thing, I see a lot of people saying that using the DVI connector makes little difference, well for me at least it made a HUGE difference. If your card is DVI compatible, use it. The cable does come with this monitor.

I just checked Dell and it shows the VP171b for $519.95 ?

Oops, my bad. I forgot that I got that price with online coupons.... one was for like $50 off any peripheral over $200 and one was for free shipping. I guess if you're not in a big hurry it would be worth the wait.

How is the viewsonic on Text Quality? I've noticed on several Viewsonic LCD screens the 2d and Text was especially blurry.
