Best 17" LCD for FPS Gaming and DVD Movies?

I have been reading through reviews and it seems that every LCD monitor has some skeletons in its closet in one form or another.

I am thinking that the NEC LCD1760V would be a good choice.
Comments?

Can someone recommend a 17" LCD Monitor for FPS Gaming (no ghosting) and DVD Movie playback?

Thanks!

i love my planar (see sig)
-no dead pixels
-never see any ghosts
-great colors, brightness, contrast, etc.

got it from dell for $420 on sale, have never regretted it

I'm looking for the same kind of LCD. The planar PX171M and the NEC 1760V use the same AUO (BenQ) 16ms panel, thus they should have the similar performance. While there're many brands, there're only a few panels. For gaming, there are AUO 16ms, LG Philips 16ms, Hydis 20ms, Samsung 12ms and AUO 12ms panels. In terms of ghosting in gaming, Tomshardare rated Hydis 20ms > AUO 16ms and 12ms and Samsung 12ms > LG 16ms. But there are other factors to compare, like view angle, color fidelity, contrast, DVI connectivity.

Check out this review, and specifically the NEC LCD1760V portion:
17" LCD: Samsung 171N & NEC LCD1760V vs. Everyone Else

To sum up, the 1760V, and therefore the 1760NX, belongs to the highly sought after club of the best 17-inch LCDs on the market. A safe bet for anyone.

That's one of the older reviews. Check out the newer ones. For me, my short list includes Acer AL1715bm (Hydis 20ms panel) and the popular AUO 16ms models (Hitachi CML175, NEC 1760V and 1760NX, Viewsonic VG710 and VP171, Sony S73 and X73, Planar PX171M, etc). Just waiting for a deal on one of them.

Edit, I forgot BenQ models, FP767-v2 (16ms), FP767-12 (12ms).
