Yes, i said best, and thats what im looking for, i was told to buy the best 17" crt, price is not an issue, dont want a lcd or a touchscreen, and it has to be a 17". What are your suggestions? I know for thr price of the "best" one (im expecting around 500 i guess but price is not an issue) i could get a really nice 19" but that isnt an option.

eagle__2: i know, i could get a pretty nice one for around $340 but i was told to get a 17" only

I suggest you look into the Viewsonic PF77 "17 with digital DVI-V, which supports both analog & digital interface, resolution up to 1600x1200 at 77hz. I'm running my PF77 at 1024x768 & 100hz on a tnt2 ultra. This monitor cost me $359.00 & it has 3 pages of options for screen adjustment, which can fix geometry problems, or uneven colors.

I just checked now and the Sony G200 has roughly the same refresh rates as the Samsung 700NF. However, I can't vouch for the quality of the G200, but on my 700NF, the display is outstanding compared to my old Viewsonic GF775 (have both in DualHead setup). Colours are more vivid, text is sharper, etc.

However, with an MSRP of $450 for the G200, it may be too expensive for your tastes.
