best 16x dvd READER?

Pioneers have always been way up there too.

I remember reading something about a new chipset that increases the speed with written media (DVD-R/RW & DVD+R/RW) but I can't remember the brand name for it. I know Pioneer and Lite-On are some of the best though.
 
just ordered the Liteon from newegg to replace my Aopen (pioneer) slot load 12x that no longer reads anything
