Best 120x120x25mm Fan

best meaning pushing most air (cfm), noise not an issue, i was hoping to get a panaflo, but then realized panaflo do not come in the 25mm flavor, only in 38mm.

i have been looking at the delta 120mm, in particular the FF1212HH, but cannot find it for sale anywhere.

any other suggestions? thanks

No 25mm pushes serious air..too much cavitation at high RPM. You need Panaflo "H" 120x38mm and make it work.

My $.02 are on Delta Triple Blade low speed 120x25mm fans. I would of course check to see they aren't going to overload the mobo though, as Galvanized Yankee suggested. I wouldn't go anywhere near their spec, actually, just to be on the safe side.

It's DTB or Sanyo Denki's for me, or nothing else... 🙂

I see the 25mm Delta is out of stock at Sidewinders, bummer.

If you really need/want a good 120mm X 25mm fan Mouser (I think) carries just about every fan Adda makes so I'm sure they would have at least one that would be suitable.

Sorry to be a downer, but when I worked at the computer shop, we had many systems come in because the fans connected through 3 pin fried the motherboard. Although the system could handle it initially, dust buildup and wear and tear increased frictional resistance on the fans causing the fan to draw more current, and the board to fry. If you really want fan speed control, get an external unit, like the fanmate2. If that fries, it's alot cheaper than your system.

Operandi is right about mouser. They make a ton of Adda Fans, which seem to have a good reputation. They also sell ebm-papst, orion and others. Big selection now that I'm checking out their site.

You can buy factory direct from them, so a lot of the fans are in stock. Do have room for 32mm depth? There's a 32 that puts out 108cfm, and I thought it might fit where a 38 won't. If you need a 25, though, there are a lot to choose from.

Hands down, if you can fit a 38mm, go with Panaflo's and a fan controller.

However, I would second GalvanizedYankee's caution. I do not use *any* of my motherboard headers for case fans - only the CPU fan get's plugged into the motherboard. Just not worth the risk.

If, like me in my latest build, you can not fit a 38mm depth fan, then the Scythe 120x120x25mm series seem to have a pretty good reputation. I'm trying to decide b/n their S-FDB and Minebea series right now.
