Best 120mm Case fans for Antec 300 + i7?

Hello! I've recently bought a cheap case (Antec 300) to better cool my i7 than running an open box setup which is pretty ghetto.

Anyway I picked up an Antec 300 for pretty cheap and I picked up some fans that my friend suggested because they are quiet and have a high CFM. They are the Silenx Ixtrema Pro (74-14). After installing everything (boy this computer is super heavy now!) I turn on my computer to prime it and boy am I surprised to have essentially the same temperatures

:/

So i'm guessing these Silenx aren't only unreliable but don't have much static pressure.

Anyway my question to you guys is, which case fan is the best for my Antec 300 and my needs? I want quiet fans but I can handle a little noise as that is tolerable but I want good CFM and good static pressure.

I'm talking about the TWO 120mm intake fans and the side panel that feeds air to the video card.

Thanks!

The best 120mm fans made in the Universe are Servo Gentle Typhoons.

I'm rather interested in Scythe but I don't know much about case fans. I thought HIGH CFM would make sense for those intake fans but I guess static pressure is something to consider as well, because these intake fans are sucking air through a shroud and a punctured grate...

Which RPM Gentletyphoons should I consider? Why not S-Flex? They seem more available than the GT's?

My friend said Fluid Dynamic fans are really good but those Gentle Typhoons are ball bearing no? I know they last longer but they're noisier? I really don't know, just asking! haha

I have S-Flexes and they suck ass. FDB fans make an annoying noise that makes you want to stab the Sony guy with a Katana.

I have had every Scythe fan ever made actually and they mostly disappoint (noise vs performance ratio).

I care about noise and the Gentle Typhoons are unmatched for their performance. Get the max RPM Gentle Typhoons (1850 readily available)... you should be using a Fan controller anyway.

S-Flexes do not suck ass. If you can find them for around $10 they're very much worth it.

However, if you can't, you're usually only paying a few bucks a piece more for the Gentle Typhoons, which do have a better sound to them.

p.s. the Silenx fans, on the other hand, do suck ass. CFM in the specs is an out and out lie.

I have an Antec 300 and I filled the three spots you mentioned with Scythe S-FLEX SFF21E.

They do a great job. My slightly OC'd Phenom II X4 955 idles at 32C/games at 42C with a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 cooler in that scenario (I have the two Antec stock fans it came with on low as well). Its not silent by any stretch, but its not irritating either - just a low hum (and there are five fans in that little case not counting the CPU and the Arctic Cooling Accelero tri-fan on my 8800 GTX (which runs between 38C-52C in there). I'm not expecting it to be silent. For a cheap case with a cheap air cool setup up I'm quite happy with the results.

My system generates a lot of heat:

CPU: Intel Core i7 920 D0 @ 3.8 GHz (Noctua NHU-12P)
MOBO: ASUS P6T Deluxe V2
MEM: OCZ Gold DDR3 3x2GB 1600
GPU: ATI Radeon 4870 X2

My question to you is how much noise those Gentle Typhoons make? How do the compare to the stock Antec 300 fan speeds (Low/Med/High?) in terms of noise?

Thanks

I've fitted my Antec 300 with 1850rpm GTs. Works wonderfully. Albeit furmark + IBT does make my system really toasty if ran at the same time.

The side-panel fan is a slim 120mm Slipstream.. Simply because the setsugen is a fat SOB and a GT wouldn't fit.
