bunch of good ideas. just remember, must be able to be cut down into 1 minute and still be just as good, and I rather not have to actually cut any scenes, just take 1 minute sections of great scenes

i would be very interested in checking out the final product. ill keep brainstorming

I wouldn't have a problem posting a finished product if it isn't too illegal

it would be cool, but knowing the studios they'd probably try to sue you a million dollars for every single 1 minute clip. PM me if you finish it would be a great short attention span flick. A lot of movies only have 1 minute of watchable shit any ways. :)

I just have to figure out the best way to get good quality clips. What would be the best way to get clips from DVDs? I have adobe premiere to put it all together, but not sure if I need to convert anything or what

Once you've extracted the movies from the DVD, you'll need an MPEG splicer/editor... my favorite one is Cutterraman (sp?). It works very well, and it only encodes the splice points, not the WHOLE file which will save you tons of time.

your best bet would be find a ripper that allows you to set a start/end point, watch the movie in PowerDVD or whatever and write down the start point and end point. I believe DVD Decryptor allows you to specify time I think. If not, there will be something that will do it. You might want to get a ripper that will support different formats, ripping straight to DVD Premiere won't be able to open it. But, if you're doing 1 minute clips you could rip in a lossless format. I'm not an expert by any means but this is very doable without much effort, it will take a lot of time though. The end results should be good man.

watch out for the MPA though, Sony and boys might try to throw you in pound me in the ass prison for this. lol

guess I'll have to keep it to myself :)

I just quickly tried a program called AoA DVD ripper that let me rip a selected clip pretty easily and very quickly. premiere wouldn't read the audio format but I can probably fix that.

VLC Media player has a partial extract feature. Slight learning curve if you're new to DVD ripping. Use File -> Wizard
