Besides FAFSA, what loans/grants did you obtain to pay for your college education?

I applied to various awards and scholarships and, over time, was nominated for or awarded others. As far as loans, probably best to see what your school offers you -- might get low or no interest ones or at least subsidized.

I just go to my financial aid advisor the day we have to confirm our scheduale and remove all blocks from our account. I just tell them I can't pay all this moeny and then they get me all these scholarships to cover the cost. I usually end up paying $2-4k a year.

lots of schools use endowments as finacial aid. The problem, is, no one applies for these scholarships. So they have some scholarships laying around at the end of each semster that no one has claimed.

absolutely correct, this has worked for me last semester. Also a good grant to get is the pell grant, at least I've had it (dont know what the circumstances are to qualify) but its worth 3k to me.

FAFSA is your key to most of it.

Schools that don't accept FAFSA require you to fill out that student profile thing at collegeboard.com ($50 or something) and submit that.

Then you could try getting scholarship applications which require a lot of filling out + autobiographies.

Well when I get out of the Army.. I'll have 35k worth of Tution paid for by the US government.

And since I'm a veteran, Illinois will pay 100% tution for 4 years of school :p

I'll actually MAKE money while going to school.

Never filled out a FAFSA form, never took student loans, never got money from parents. I graduated with no debts other than a car loan that I paid off within a couple years. I got some scholarships and I worked all through college.
