Besides Babe Ruth, how many trades have there been between the yankees and red sox?

Johnny Damon wasn't a trade. He signed with the Yankees as a Free Agent...
Call it a trade off then as Damon swore to Boston fans he would never leave them for New York.

Still not a trade.

You can call it a lie. But it still isn't a trade; nor a trade-off. Boston got nothing in return.

Intradivisional trades are rare between any two teams, even more so in the free agency era.
I know that in 1997 the Red Sox traded Mike Stanley and Randy Brown to the Yankees for Tony Armas and a PTBNL (Jim Mecir).

Edit: searched a bit and found this book which seems to list most notable trades between the two teams.

but we ended up with coco crispies.😉 It was a bad return😉

Babe Ruth wasn't really a trade either. He was sold to the Yankees. This was back, of course, before free agency, when teams actually owned players.

I'm sure the Red Sox got a draft pick or 2, as Damon would have been a Type A free agent or Type B at worst.

Edit: Still doesn't make it a trade, though. (fixed from Yankees to Sox)

You mean the Sox got a draft pick...which I'm sure they did, a Type-A at that.

And if you guys think that the draft pick is a "raw" deal, what other sports does the team get compensation for a free-agent signing elsewhere, also, see the Oakland A's for what teams can do with draft picks from free agents who left (Joe Blanton, Houston Street, etc..)
