I overfilled the oil by about a quart for an oil change last year. For the three months my mom's car was in that state, it probably fouled up the spark plugs and fuel injectors, because gas milage tanked and starting became much more difficult.
So, I bought a can of the Berryman and put it in a full tank of gas. It definitely improve things, especially acceleration. The Toyota Matrix is no racecar, but there's a difference trying to go through molasses and something a bit more responsive than that.
