Berlin: Sat in some nice Audis today!

So, here I am 8 days into my business trip. I arrived in Berlin on Saturday. This city is ablaze in World Cup madness. Every restaraunt and food establishment, big or small, has a mini Biergarten with a TV outside. There is no better way to watch these games IMO!

Anyway, I walked into the Audi Showcase Dealership near Under den Linden Strasse today and sat in the TT 3.2 Quattro, S8, S6, and RS4. Yes, they all had power running to them, and the latter three had their widescreen NAV displays on, beaming in live World Cup action! The S8 had the premium B&O sound system, so I got in, closed the doors, shut the windows, turned off the TV, turned on the CD player, and listened to the demo CD. Holy FVCK! I felt like I was center stage. Probably the best premium stock audio system to date. The speakers are all metal, most of them inset into the doors. The front corner speakers pop up from the dash. Way cool! Of course the S6 and RS4 were equally gorgeous. The new TT is leaps and bounds better than the old model. Well done! I would love the 2.0T Quattro version.

Anyway, that is all from my favorite city in the world!!!

On that note, I fvcked up royally by not zipping up my camera bag a few days ago, swung it over my shoulder, and out poured my Canon EFS 10-22 and EF 24-105. Yep, $2,000-worth-of-lenses spilled four feet onto concrete. The former is dead but the latter has minor damage. Both are being shipped back to Canon for a repair estimate as soon as I get back. I am SO pissed at myself!!! My EOS-20D and Tamron 28-75 were around my neck thankfully.

I would hope so. At nearly $7,000, it better be awesome 😉
