Dear Linux-Friends here on the AnandTech-Forum :)

from time to time we want to inform you bout new events and conferences. The annual meeting of the Libreoffice-Foundation is certainly worth to mention here...

LibreOffice Conference 2025 will take place in Budapest, Hungary - probably on September 1 – 5

the board members of the Libre-Office Dcument-Foundation announced some day ago: LibreOffice Conference 2025 will take place in Budapest

For this year’s LibreOffice Conference we had two location proposals: Luxembourg and Budapest. Members of The Document Foundation voted to choose the final location, and we can announce that Budapest is the winner.
Currently, the expected date for the conference is September 1 – 5, but this is still subject to change. We will confirm the final dates soon, then the fun begins: the call for papers, building up the schedule, planning social events and more…

read more:

ps -we keep you informed... just stay tuned.. ;)

OpenSouthKids is a full day of activities dedicated to the younger generations of geeks. :joystick:

Ubuntu is going to have a strong presence with a booth where we will engage with the community, answer all your burning questions, run demos and showcase the orange side of Linux to all participants. Yes, our booth will be very orange, and word of warning, the bright orange of Ubuntu is not a bug but a feature!

Adding to the booth activities, we are going to have a room dedicated to workshops, where we will challenge each other with brain-tingling activities. We will share more details about the content, but we are also eager to hear from you. What are the Ubuntu-related skills you would like to learn at UbuCon Europe this summer?

Hello everyone, good day dear friends on AnandTech:)

by the way: I'm happy to regularly add some news about Events and conferences in the world of Linux and Open-Source.

come to Berlin - 15-17 June 2025 @ Kulturbrauerei Berlin Buzzwords is Europe’s leading conference for modern data infrastructure, search and machine learning and is focused on open source software projects.

see the full shedule: https://2025.berlinbuzzwords.de/schedule/

What the #bbuzz is all about/ We’ve asked our video team to capture the essence of Berlin Buzzwords on film – here’s the result!

Berlin Buzzwords is Europe’s leading conference for modern data infrastructure, search and machine learning and is focused on open source software projects. At #bbuzz leading experts present, demystify and educate an international audience on a range of modern industry trends. It provides an independent, vendor neutral platform for developers, engineers, IT architects, analysts and data scientists who are interested in information retrieval, the searchability of large amounts of data and big data processing. Berlin Buzzwords further offers a place to network within and across the different communities, and to amplify the idea of Open Source above and beyond the realm of software development.

By the way: generally spoken: I'd like to put forward a suggestion that I believe would add significant value to our community: a dedicated subforum or event calendar for community events, conferences, hackathons, meetups, CFP deadlines, etc.

Why? In the open source world, events are more than just appointments – they are places for networking, innovation, and participation. Especially for all of us, who are new to the community, it's often difficult to even find out about relevant conferences or community meetups. A central location for such information would be:

a interesting place for some announcements bout gatherings, meetings etc.
- it would promote engagement (make it easier to participate) . and besides that
- make our community more visible-
- strengthen exchange
.... and help us connect better with one another:)

just my two cents

Too many of them here and this is close to borderline spam.

All subsequent threads need to be put in here.
