Berkeley is weird and they like it that way. Seems like a stupid but largely harmless law. It's not like people in Berkeley are going to give up their cell phones. There are far worse laws across the country that actually hurt people.

Ionizing radiation can and does give you cancer. There is no evidence that non-ionizing radiation like cell phone radiation gives you cancer.

Its not quite that simple. Bypass the door cutoff on a microwave, stick your head inside and turn it on.

Then come back and tell us that non ionising radiation is harmless.

Any evidence to back that up? Microwaves are non-ionizing, so they can not directly induce DNA damage the way UV light can. In addition to the fact that they are low-power devices, the wavelengths used would only penetrate anywhere between a few millimeters up to a centimeter. Perhaps you have another plausible mechanism in which nonionizing radiation will cause cancer or come up with some studies showing this anecdotal link to be true.

The last time I leased a car the dealership presented me with a piece of paper with multiple lines to initial to confirm that I had signed all the other pieces of paper presented to me. There were about 20 spots I needed to initial. One for each document. And of course I had to sign the bottom of that one.

I'm not kidding.

I asked if there was another piece of paper where I had to confirm that I had in fact signed the one requiring all the initials. I was told, "not yet".
