YEAH, but one has to consider the cost of living in Ca. I am of course assuming most of them are going to work in Ca after school.

I don't doubt it. If you look at the stats, the 75th percentile is 81k.

It's very likely that the 28 respondents out of 96 graduates were the ones who ended up with above-average incomes and wanted to report it. The rest may be unemployed or making a lot less $ and felt embarrassed to report it.

Yeah, but an engineer in many other places in the country, who make closer to the national average, will probably have about the same amount of money, or possibly more, in his or her bank account at the end of the year.

CA is just so insanely expensive.

heh, "self reported" brings to mind self reported size surveys.

that's funny though, the major I started at in cal, even self reported is 36K average despite being ridiculously competitive. good thing I got the hell out of that worthless school/major.
