This guy was trying to join sides with the Taliban. The only difference between him and the American Obama ordered the strikes against and had killed was the Taliban decided to take him prisoner instead. I swear to god if Obama decided to nuke half the United States you people would find a way to support it.

And you know this because you were there and he told you this?

Part of your problem is believing that in your head to begin with.

Yeah, it's amazing just how many people 'know' exactly what happened.

It's a lot like all the 'experts' on Islam that have suddenly turned up.

I was in the Kunar in 2013. I've also spoken with half dozen people that were in his unit or on the FOB he left when it took place. This guy left on his own free will, and definately offered the taliban something in return for him not getting his head chopped off. I know enough about the middle east to know this doesn't just "happen". Dude is definately guilty of many things. I'm curious to see if he gets aiding and abetting charges.

"I was around", "I talked to some guys", "I read somewhere", "Stuff I know about"...

Still waiting for some actual facts.

Still waiting for some actual facts.

FACT: This guys ENTIRE platoon is saying he walked off the FOB.

FACT: His kit and weapon were found in the guard tower he was in, meaning he took it off

FACT: in over a decade of war not one person has been "snatched" off a FOB while on guard duty

FACT: The taliban don't exactly have a giant headquarters downtown somewhere, if you ask a local if they've seen the taliban their typical response is "I'm just a farmer", you need to actively seek out the group.

FACT: Several people were killed in combat while actively searching for this guy. The entire province was "shut down" form normal operations for a month with everyone actively searching for this guy.

CURIOUS: That most people when captured are beheaded in a month. How does this guy live for 5 years without getting the same fate? Especially being an American, aka, the biggest of the infidels? He was more than likely providing them with information.

How many fucking obvious is obvious signs do you need before we just throw this guy away? Let him go to court, get his due process. In the end he is guilty.

I bet you would let Casey Anthony watch your kids because she was 'innocent' too huh.

By reading the documents dumped by pvt. nancy manning people clamoring for facts can also read the activity reports around the time Bergdahl deserted. There were radio intercepts of chatter between Afghan locals trying find someone in the taliban that spoke english so this fucking dipshit Bergdahl could talk with them. This stuff has been known for a while now.... yet the obama tools just simply cannot accept the fact that they guy deserted.

I see a long list of speculations (and a couple of incorrect statements) and a stupid remark about Casey Anthony.

Facts? I'm still waiting.

It's not always about that damn Kenyan!

Plus, you've got the transcripts wrong. They don't say this: " There were radio intercepts of chatter between Afghan locals trying find someone in the taliban that spoke english so this fucking dipshit Bergdahl could talk with them."

They say this:

June 30, 2009

10:12: Radio traffic, presumably between Taliban fighters, crackles with the report “that an American soldier with a camera is looking for someone who speaks English.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/01/u...ahl-pow-wikileaks-documents-details.html?_r=0

Can you spot the difference?

They also say this:

June 30, 2009

"15:43: An “intercepted radio transmission that the Taliban” has captured three civilians and one United States soldier."

and this:

July 1, 2009

"02:34 a.m.: American officials intercept a communication, presumably between two Taliban or other extremists (No. 1 and No. 2), discussing the missing soldier:

No. 1 — Is it true that they captured an American guy?

No. 2 — Yes, they did. He is alive. There is no where he can go (LOL).

No. 1 — Is he still alive?

No. 2 — Yes, he is alive. But I don’t have the whole story. Don’t know if they were fighting. All I know is that they capture (sic) him alive and they are with him right now.

6:10: More intercepts, presumably among two Taliban members (No. 1 and No. 2) discussing that the Americans are searching in the wrong area for the missing soldier.

No. 1 — (LOL). They know where he is but they keep going to the wrong area.

No. 2 — O.K. Set up the work for them.

No. 1 — Yes, we have a lot of I.E.D. on the road.

No. 2 — God willing, we will do it.

No. 1 — We were attacking the post he was sitting taking (expletive). He had no gun with him. He was taking (expletive). He has not cleaned his butt yet.

No. 2 — What a sheam (sic – “shame”) for them.

No. 1 — I don’t think he w--

No. 2 — Yes, look they have all Americans, A.N.A. (Afghan National Army) helicopters, the planes are looking for him.

No. 1 — I think he is big shot. That why they are looking for him.
A third Taliban, apparently, asks: Can you guys make a video of him and announce it all over Afghanistan that we have one of the Americans?

No. 1: — We already have a video of him.

11:02: The search continues. Military sending troops “to check out tents in the area.”

18:02 p.m.: An Afghan commander receives a call “from Taliban stating that they want to trade 15 Taliban for the American. Taliban will call back in 10 minutes.”

19:33: Reports that “soldier may be being held near Shin Cha village where white station wagon was seen traveling… The liscense (sic) plate number is 7534.”

Rofl. You're pretty dense then. None of these are speculations.

Yes, as I noted there was also some incorrect information as well.

"In the early-morning hours of June 30th, according to soldiers in the unit, Bowe approached his team leader not long after he got off guard duty and asked his superior a simple question: If I were to leave the base, would it cause problems if I took my sensitive equipment?"

Who gives a fuck if he deserted? We brought him home because he is an American citizen.
If you guys want to strip him of his citizenship, then you can do that here, in America, in the appropriate court of law.

Too many of these idiots can't see that he's an American citizen, all they see is someone they hate and want dead. No trial necessary, just leave him behind and let the enemy kill him. Or that we should have shot him on the spot when we got him back. As if being an American is only allowed until they decide otherwise.

We're fighting crazy Muslim radicals who will kill those of their own who they deem ideologically impure and here we have some Americans who think the exact same way. They have their evidence, no trial necessary as it would be a waste of time. Give one of these He-Men the gun and they will gladly put the bullet in this traitor's head.

With fellow Americans like these, who needs enemies?

Personally I'm glad he's back and will have his day in court. I do suspect he will be convicted by an Army Court Martial of desertion and possibly aiding/abetting the enemy and spend several years in Ft Leavenworth.

I've never seen such anti American views coming from people whose very job it was to defend and protect Americans and American values. Pretty disgusting.

Don't you know gray, some guy on an Internet forum with 200 posts always trumps a news source and their reporters! Statements made on the internet are always more trust worthy than an article with sources to each of it's claims.

You are indeed hopeless gray!

Shit if they had their way, they would bury him up to his head and stone him. The extreme right wing in America is precariously close in values and ethics to the Islamic countries that they hate so much. Odd that.
