This guy left on his own free will, and definately offered the taliban something in return for him not getting his head chopped off. FACT: His kit and weapon were found in the guard tower he was in, meaning he took it off

FACT: in over a decade of war not one person has been "snatched" off a FOB while on guard duty

FACT: The taliban don't exactly have a giant headquarters downtown somewhere, if you ask a local if they've seen the taliban their typical response is "I'm just a farmer", you need to actively seek out the group.

FACT: Several people were killed in combat while actively searching for this guy. The entire province was "shut down" form normal operations for a month with everyone actively searching for this guy.

CURIOUS: That most people when captured are beheaded in a month. How does this guy live for 5 years without getting the same fate? Especially being an American, aka, the biggest of the infidels? He was more than likely providing them with information.
