Obviously I've got an A7V and my hard drive's connected to the Promise ATA100 controller. I downloaded the free BeOS and installed it and when I run the program I get errors that I would assume are because it can't find the hard drive or is having problems with the Promise controller. Anyone know of any drivers I could use to fix this? I don't want to have to open my system, disconnect one of my cd-roms, and connect the hard drive to the ATA66 IDE connector everytime I want to run Be.

I am afraid you are going to have to connect it to a standard ide.
That's what I did on my A7V that I used to have before i sold it. I put debian on it and the setup didn't work right because of the problem between the chair and the keyboard. I just couldn't get the latest drivers to work.

I dont think the Promise is your problem. I installed BE pro 5.0 on a harddrive connected to a Promise Ultra/66 card with no problems. There is no drivers for the Promise in BE yet that I could find so the drive doesnt run in full speed like in windows but still runs at a acceptable speed. What kind of error messages are you getting ? Did you create a seperate partition for Be under the 1024 cylinder on your hardrive ?
