Hey guys and gals
I've got this problem with BeOS 5. PE
First of all my Network card if a D-Link DE-528...
I just recently installed BeOS, and my Network card was detected as the a generic (defult) network card, which I perfectly understand.
I'm currently on cable... and I have no idea why I can not connect to the net.
I did enter all the info properly. but I still can't connect.
One thing I know is that my cable modem, doesn't like it when my network card runs at ful duplex. it only likes it at half, otherewise it won't connect.
Do you guys have any suggestions for me?
I also tried using the 3com driver and specified the right IRQ, and so on
Do you guys have any suggestions or comments (except telling me not to use BeOS, or getting a new card)?

I'm definitely not going to tell you you not to run Be, beacuse it is the best OS right? Anyways, what exactly do you mean your NIC was detected as the generic (default) card? It may not be supporetd or it may need drivers if BeOs shows it without a type, I am running the DLink DFE-538TX card in my BeOs Pro box and had to have this driver to get it to work, driver I did a quick check on all my BeOs source sites and found nothing about your card, if it isn't supported or there aren't drivers or a patch for it you may have to get another card.
