I know there is another thread on the Alpha PAL8045 heatsink, but mine is a slightly different problem.

I just got mine from SVC today and one of the corners has all the pins smushed in. Can I just bend them out? Will it hurt the cooling? Also the bottom was a little scratched which I'll try to sand out.

Thanks.

SK-6 is like that too. Nothing to worry about. You could just leave it alone or mess the hell of it as long as you don't completely deform it, hehehe... just bend it back if you think it looks ugly..

Cool, thanks. Just for the record SVC said they would take it back and mail me a new one, but it's too much of a hassle just for some bent pins... it takes over 4 days to arrive to me, so I'd say 8 days round trip. I'll check the temps when I install it. Heard it's a good heatsink.

The cooling prowess will NOT be affected.
