A friend asked me to put wireless on her laptop. I attempted to insert a PC Card into the slot, but it was not going in smoothly. Instead of forcing the card in, I looked into the slot with a flashlight and saw that the pins had been wrecked. (She things that a comb got jammed in it while traveling). So, she really wants wireless, and PCMCIA is the best way to go because her computer does not have mini-PCI and because USB adapters are too clunky for her style.
Long story short, I need to find the sled/socket/receiver/whatever it's called that PC cards plug into. This is a Dell laptop, about 3 or 4 years old. I'll post the model later. Any idea where I can find such an item?
