I bent the last pin on the right upper side, and now can't get the ribbon to go on,
tried bending it back but no luck its twisted and bent at the same time.........

what are my options? will the drive work if I break it off? anyway to replace it?
thanks

The HD will probably not work without.... Keep trying... Sometimes I use an old cable to bend a pin back...

The only other thing you can do to save the drive it to find a controler card off of a dead drive

Get a needle nose and a hollow shear pin found at any hardware store, hold the pin with the needlenose and put the shear pin over it and straighten it out.
You can also use 2 pair of needlnose pliers.

No use in creating problems if they can be avoided. I'd say bend it back with needle nose or replace the cable.

Remove the lead from a mechanical pencil, slip the empty tip over the bent pin and realign it. I've used the trick many times on drives and CPU's.

Dan that's an awesome answer, I have about 5 right in front of me and it didn't click.
Some things are right in front of your face if you look hard enough.
