BenQ XL2720Z vs ASUS MX279H

Bump Anyone?

Should I change my title and add in more description? I want to make it bare bone so I can see you guys opinion instead of listing what I feel are the pro and con of each monitor.

I really need a 27 inches monitor regardless! Please reply!

The top monitor shows up at $450 US. At that point, I'd rather buy the 2560x1440 version:
BenQ XL2730Z 144Hz 2560x1440

What are your actual GPU specs?

Do you have a MicroCenter near you?

My computer is very outdated but I like to play games such as Pillar of Eternity, Inquisition, Starcraft 2, Divinity: Original Sin on a much bigger screen than my current BenQ GW2255 22 inches monitor.

If you recall, I never bought the AMD Fury X because it a disappointment so I won't even touch or build a PC like I had wanted months ago until Pascal GPU drop. Right now I desire a 27 inches 1080p screen because I can't run on a 1440p resolution with outdated hardware that was build in 09. If I get that BENQ then I will no longer be at a disadvantage and will inspire me to play Counter Strike and other FPS again.

Did the Benq rise in price? You may be right it might be a waste but at this time I can't really use a 1440p monitor. What do you think? I'm not 100% sure.

I did have a Microcenter in San Jose CA but it was recently close down this year. Never actually had a chance to visit it.

Edit: Benq was $380 when I posted it. Now that a $70 price increase.

But if you are rebuilding a new PC and getting high end parts in 2016, what's the benefit of buying a 1080p 27" monitor now when in 6-8 months your new PC will be set for 1440p gaming? Unless you plan on reselling the monitor and buying a new one again?

What about getting a 4K IPS 27"?

You'd run it at 1080p for now and when you get a new PC, you go 4K on the same screen? I guess it just depends on how much you want to spend on a next gen GPU and if you are OK buying flagship cards often to maintain higher resolutions of 1440/4K with newer games. If you want to worry less about the GPU upgrade path, then I'd go 1440p. Personally I wouldn't buy a 1080p monitor at current prices of 1440p monitors. But if you play competitive twitch shooters, then 120-144Hz 1080p could be better for you.

I don't plan on doing 1440p gaming. I plan on doing triple 1080p monitor gaming as I believe to be be more immersive than 1440p gaming. Either that or 4K gaming but a 27 inches 4K would be too small and I read that you don't really experience 4K with any monitor less than 32 inches. I may be wrong though.

My budget for my next PC build would be around 2 grand. Even though I own both consoles I'm definitely building a nice PC to play games like Star Citizen. Hopefully it is Epic. Right now my feeling is that 1440p is too middle of the road but you are right 1080p monitor are overprice for what they are. If the Pascal GPU can handle 4K with at least 60fps, then I'll forgo my triple monitoring setup (cause Nvidia Surround suck) and go 4K gaming altogether which might be the smart choice right now. I cannot run 1080p game on native resolution with 1440p.

Thank you for your view, it has made me rethink my decision. I just don't know if I want to forgo my dream of triple monitoring gaming even at 1080p.

Edit: What is your setup like?
