Hot.
<- not an expert. Does like the full 1080 res on a <23" monitor.

Pricing will be key though (obviously)

I don't think I'd be willing to give up the 120 vertical pixels to avoid having black bars for 16:9 content. In fact I don't think I would buy a monitor with under 1200 vertical pixels period.

TV's are one thing, but if I wanted to play games on a TV I would walk into my next room where I have a 61" 1080P set.

Finally!

So tired of the stupid black bars on the top and bottom when I try to watch DVDs on my PC. And what was the reason for PC monitors going 16:10 rather than 16:9? Just to be annoying???

16:10 is a compromise between 4:3 and 16:9

the main focus of a PC is not to watch movies.

Thank you all for the replies, from your posts I understand that this monitor is good for watching movies but not that good for gaming... right ?

Why not? Most games these days are console ports anyway ;)

Who said it wasn't good for gaming?
Consoles are 16:9

It would be fine for gaming, but I don't like TN panels if in fact it will be one and 1920x1080 would be tough to run for most games

Some content is 2.35:1 though so 16:9 won't help much. 16:10 is almost too narrow I think. Who came up with 16:9 anyway? I think 3:2 would be ideal unless you want something that just overwhelms you, which case something really wide like 2.35:1 would work.
