As of 4/27/06 it is now listed w/ $4.00 instant off, still with free shipping, for a price of $225.99 (plus tax for some of us).

It's a 6 bit. Specs say 16.2 million colors with dithering.

I bought this one, to go along with my previous BenQ. The brightness and colors were not that great out of the box, at least not with my "Images of Ireland" theme on the desktop, so it took some twiddling to get it to my liking. Specifically lowering the gamma in the video driver seemed to help, along with adding a little bit of "vibrance".

It's a 6-bit panel, but BenQ does a good job of halftoning, so the colors overall are good. The 8 ms response time is noticably faster than my older 16 ms LCD (which I was already happy with), but my older LCD had a slightly nicer picture, IMO.

Overall, the picture of the BenQ FP91G+ is a lot like the Hyundai L90D+, however I think BenQ is a better brand. A great overall LCD for gaming and general work, and decent for movies as well, and easily the best LCD in its price range. Probably not a good LCD for people who do serious printing from photoshop, though. It was a bit difficult to find a happy medium between brightness and contrast - I think you really need to play with the gamma in the video driver to get things just right.
