From what i've read here at the forums these lcd's are top notch. Here in Australia they only appear to market the FP241W. From what i can gather the difference between the two said monitors is that the Z version has PerfectMotion Technology which sounds advantageous as i want this new monitor for gaming. Just wondering if anybody has seen both models in action and thinks that this feature isn't required as the W version is pretty good for gaming already. I have a 8800GTS 640MB gfx card fwiw. Thanks.

Read this review of the Z version. It is not really advantageous. More cons than pros:

My feeling is that the scanning backlight doesn't have a bright future. It will probably be superceded by the double-refresh-rate technology (120 or 100 hz) already appearing on many TV sets.

Thanks Bernard. Incidently I am also looking at a Panasonic Viera LCD tv as well and you just answered a question in my head as to whether that technology was any good too :)

The Black Frame Insertion tech is useless cause it introduces so much flicker it's unbearable (for me anyway) on my FP241VW. Luckily you can turn it off. The WZ adds 1:1 scaling over the W model doesn't it? I'm pretty sure you're better off getting the WZ unless it's a lot more expensive than the W.

You are welcome. As for LCD TV's, yes, the frame-doubling feature is quickly becoming a must-have.

I stand corrected then. So was it just the Black Frame Insertion that was added to the WZ? I was also reading over at HardOCP that BenQ may be using an A-MVA panel in the newer revisions of the WZ and VW, although I have no idea what impact that will have, if any.
