BenQ FP241 LCD not working with PS3 through HDMI

I tried hooking up my PS3 to my BenQ FP241VW with a HDMI cable but when I try to switch to the HDMI input it just flashes on and off. I can see the PS3 screen but it just flashes like it's searching for a signal or swapping inputs.

I also can't then use the input button to change inputs as it just keeps turning on and off so I have to disconnect the HDMI cable and turn the monitor on and off to be able to switch back to the DVI connector used by my comp.

Just prior to trying this I had the PS3 working with a Dell 2407FPW-HC through the same HDMI cable and everything worked perfectly.

Anyone have any similar experience or know what could be wrong?

Maybe take it up with Sony?

Well, it worked with the other monitor but it seems like it won't sync properly with my monitor. I got it to work with the HDMI and doing a default setting on the PS3 but when I try to switch to the 1080p resolution within the PS3 it gives me the blinking issue.

Okay I seem to have got it working...I'll update this if it was just a temporary fix.

It's just a temporary fix and I can't seem to get it working again. I can get 1080i consistently but not 1080p and I have to do this every time I start the PS3. This is a real pain.
