1620 supports CD / DVD speed disc quality checks, is bitset by default for DVD+R / DVD+RW / DVD+R DL in official firmware, has aggressive firmware support that improves the drive with every version, and even added 4x DL for free with the the firmware before the current one.

It produces great scans on + media, supports overburning in official firmware, and has to be the quietest optical drive I've ever owned.
