Is there any benefit to running dual channel ram? I've got an asus a7n8x deluxe w/ 2 sticks of crucial 512 PC2700. I set them up as dual channel but don't really see any performance increases. is there a benefit to this?

The principle benefit is to the owners of nForce2 IGP boards. The extra bandwidth really lights a fire under the onboard video core. On non-IGP boards, most peoples' apps don't seem to care much one way or the other, although the SPEC results seem to be an exception, look at the blue numbers in the chart here: DDR v. DualDDR

For the Nforce 2, DC only helps out the IGP. But even if you've got a dedicated vidcard, if the DC RAM is not causing any problems I would leave it enabled.

For the most part DC only provides about a 5% performance difference on a nForce 2 chipset...

But the P4 on the other hand can use all the bandwidth it can take..
