Benefits of more RAM for a linux box only running samba

Hello all.

I have a question concerning the benefits of more RAM for a linux system acting solely as a samba server for my home LAN. Currently, my linux system has the following specs:

RH7.1
Tbird 650 @ 650 and 1.5 vcore (aiming for stable and lowest temp)
Iwill KK266
2x 128MB PC150 HSDRAM
3x 45GB hard drives
and the usual for the rest of the parts

Seeing that Crucial has good quality RAM and cheap prices on the 256 and 512 modules, I am considering adding or replacing my RAM. Would my system benefit from 1.5GB of RAM, or is that just a waste of money? I am figuring it is the latter. So if that is true, what is the sweet spot for RAM in a samba server? While running KDE, I did check the RAM usage history and noticed I came close to using the full 256MB. Should I just get one 512MB module?

Samba isn't memory-intensive process, I don't think it would run any faster if you put more memory in your server. Linux always tries to use all your memory, it just fills free RAM with buffers and disc cache to speed up things....
