Bendable wire for hanging things in shower

I'm looking for a rust proof wire for hanging something in the shower. I bought a fogless mirror from Target when I moved into my house, and after 10 years it was time to replace it as it wasn't very fogless anymore, and it had started to rust. So last month while at Target, I bought what seemed to be the exact same one. Getting it home it had very small changes to it, like the bump coating they used on the metal, making it look a bit nicer. The other less noticeable difference are the four suction cups that hold it to the shower wall seaming to be of different quality. The edges of them quite easily start to bend upward when you press it to the wall. That's not really the issue, but it may be the cause of it. Last night, the damn thing slid right off the wall waking us both and scaring us half to death. I cleaned it and tried drying the wall off, leaving it wet, a little wet, varying degrees of pressure to the suction cups, but any slight tug on it starts the sliding and its own momentum carries it all the way down where it hits the shower knob and flies off the wall. Just got a text from the wife saying it fell again while she was still in bed.

The obvious fix for this is something other shower caddies employ, a hook that loops over the shower head. It would be easy to loop it around the top two suction cups and still use all of them for holding it against the wall. But what material?

Is there a bendable, but not too flexible, rust resistant wire for such a project I can buy? A coat hanger would be perfect, but I'm sure that would rust. I found some aluminum craft wire on Amazon, but the reviews say its very easily bendable with only your hands. I don't have kids, so I'm not worried about anyone squeezing it or anything, but I don't want general cleaning or occasional brushing up against it to slowly deform it. Can I just use a coat hanger and apply rust proofing to it? What to use for that?

Stainless aircraft safety wire is what we use for things like that.

Bare copper ground wire, available at just about every hardware store. Or just strip the ground wire out of a piece of 14/2 romex.

Those may both work. Copper would look cool, but it eventually turns green, right? Pliable may be the word I was looking for. Something I can shape with pliers and will hold that shape through moderate usage.

Greenman has a great idea, but you might want to use an insulated wire with its plastic sheathing intact instead. Then you won't have to worry about the appearance of the bare copper, which would probably darken but not turn green, but it might be able to stain the side of the shower.

I think I would use a coat hanger coated with beeswax ... e.g. Sno-seal.
I would also wax the shower-curtain rod if there is one.

I don't see what the issue with it being bendable is. I mean you're probably not going to be playing racketball in the shower and if it bends, it can be un-bent. However what I would think about is thoroughly cleaning the area the suction cups need to stick to and using a TINY bit of silicone caulking to promote adhesion.

As long as the wall surface is non-porous, that should be removable later without any defacement. Just to err on the safe side, I would put a tiny spot of caulking alone in an inconspicuous test area to make sure the curing acid in the caulking does not react with the surface, or use a vinyl caulking instead of silicone, but remember it's a shower so they make caulking specifically for this environment. You might need some masking tape to hold it up until the caulking sets.
