quite different since the next Radeon is expected to be released around the same time as the nv30 I think.

hmm, my bet is that those figures are fishy at best........How on earth did they get the memory bandwidth to feed to NV30....
the R300 is alreadt at 315 DDR? .....unless Nvida uses QDR ...there is not way for them to get memory bandwidth.....too bad QDR isn't really out yet...

no, I'm talking about the one with ddr2 memory, the one that one ATI official was more interested in than the 9700 :)

these are definitely fake..if you believe them, just wait..R400 will get 75K 3Dmarks and 1000 fps in q3 @ 640x480

600 FPS is BS in Quake 3... you cant get 600 at 640x480 when Q3 is CPU limited.

Fake. How can there be any real benchmarks of NV30 since it has barely got out of the fab??

"hey Jim-Bob, what kind of performance do you think NV30 will get?"
"Well Billy, I think it performs about 30-70% better than R300 does"
"Could you turn that in to Excel graph?"
"Sure thing buddy! Could you pass me that beer?"

That bunch of rubbish is why intelligent people only trust Anand and Tom to produce trustworthy benchmarks.

"benchmark" implies there was something to bench. since its higly unlikely theres even working silicon yet, calling this drivel a "benchmark" is false. more accurate would be "wild and completely unfounded speculation by nvidia fanboys"

Basic logic:

1. A benchmark is an actual test of performance.
2. In order to test the performance you must have the item to test.
3. NV30 doesn't exist yet.

Ergo: There are no benchmarks of the NV30.

What was linked aren't benchmarks. They are wild speculation that is impossible with the laws of physics and the architecture of Q3.

The predictions are from this Czech website and this is what they said:

As the first company in the world, nVidia wants to use DDR-II RAM from Samsung running at 1GHz. Technologically it is possible because they have samples running at 900MHz at the moment. However, it is a far cry from mass production and it's very expensive as well. If nVidia starts selling NV300 for $500, using 1GHz RAM is possible to implement. The card should have between 128MB and 256MB RAM, former being more likely. It will have 256-bit memory bus and a new LightSpeed memory Architecture III. The bandwith would be around 30GB/s which is three times as much as L2 cache on AMD CPUs. nVidia won't forget to use 8x AGP either.

The core will have 120 million transistors built on 0.13 micron technology and the frequency should be between 350MHz and 400MHz. It is rumored to have two chips like Voodoo5, however after its fiasco it's not likely to happen.

nVidia leaked information about the performance of this chip, but take the following paragraphs with a grain of salt because they are not coming from an unbiased source.

It will be 3.5x faster than GF4 Ti4600 in Doom III.
Fillrate will be 2.7x bigger than GF4 Ti4600.
NV30 can handle 200 million triangles (400x more than V1).
In 3DMark 2001, it will be 3x faster than GF4 Ti4600.
In Quake III (1280x1024x32bit, 4x AA), NV30 will be 2.5x faster than GF4 Ti4200.
Pixel shaders are 4x more powerful.

If these results are half-true, we can look forward to a great card.

You must really, REALLY hate the fact that the Radeon 9700 is blowing the GF4 out of the water. A sure sign of a zealot. ;)
In desperation, you point to something that does not exist, "The NV30 will come and SHOW YOU!"
Maybe it will, maybe it won't. In the meantime, try to get used to that fact that nVidia is not always going to be the best there is. nVidia is NOT going to reward you for your zealotry.
ATI is NOT the devil. A good graphics card from ANY company is just that - a good graphics card, which does one thing - make pretty pictures. It will not provide love and support or make you feel fulfilled in life...

It's time to relax and give up the war. It's pointless. You have a good graphics card - enjoy it. Sure the 9700 is faster.... do you NEED the speed? If you do, sell your precious TI4600 and buy one and then shut up about it. Don't need the speed? Keep your Ti4600 and shut up about it. :)
