Benchmarking Right : An editorial about the millions and millions of dollars that are invested in hardware to play computer games, yet when it comes to tools in order to evaluate that hardware, it is slim pickens at best. (...)
To put it simply, current synthetic benchmarks overall, do a disservice to the hardware community and everyone that will ever buy a 3D video card or a computer that has one installed.

Heh, dumb HardOCP. Never really liked them, and glad to see them spewing information everyone already knows. This info has been around a LONG time. It's basically marketing and so company A can have bragging rights over company B because they do better in test C, which in reality means nothing.

ATi's response was pretty much what I expected. Didn't address the key points and just kind of beat around the bush. It's obvious neither them nor nVidia are going to be upfront about this subject.
