Benchmarking Questions?

Hello all,
Got some questions I hope you'll be able to answer. I bought a Mach V system from Falcon-NW and have some Q's about benchmarking. My specs are as follows.
Athlon 1.4

Asus A7M266

256 PC2100

ATX case w/ 300watt PS

IBM 60XP 20GB HD

VisionTek GeForce 3 w/12.41 drivers O/C @ 210/485

Sony 52X CD-ROM

Plextor 12x10x32 CDRW

SBL Value

D-Link Ethernet

U.S Robotics PCI 3Com modem

Windows ME

Now when I run 3DMARK 2001 at default I get a score anywhere from 5663 to 5684. I was told that the difference should only be about 5 points but mine is up to 21. Is this normal? Nothing is running in the background so thats not it. Also is 5684 a normal score for this system? In UT timedemo I recieve an average frame rate of 89fps with everything on high and 1024x768x32 resolution, again is this a good average? Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

your problems:

1. you worry to much

2. it could be factors of heat or moisture changes in the room or any number of things

The higher scores most likely indicate the maps are still loaded into memory. The lower scores are most likely the first time you run it after a reboot.

I do agree though, don't even waste the time being concerned about a 21 freakin point spread. You have a nice system there, play some games and enjoy it.

i think you just wanted to brag about what you had.

a small difference like that is normal, but like the other guys said don't worry about it. with that much power it's not like 21 points matters anyway. it comes out to something like 0.0003700440529% difference

First of all put the 12.90 detenator drivers on!
Is AA turned on?
If you care about the 3dmark score bump the vidcard to 240/535!Seems a little below average for your system!
Windows Me stinks performance wise from what ive heard!
3dmark is not perfect, you could run it 20 times and never get the same score, plus its not a game so who cares what you get on it!
