Benchmarking for DVDROM.

I have always wondered how to setup a proper system to benchmark my dvdrom. I have a 16x dvd and is on secondary master (ATA/33 and DMA on for all drives under WinXP, 768MB RAM, AMD 1.2), when I run DVDSpeed to benchmark a DVDROM (about 4.2GB), the speed of the drive never goes above 10x whereas I see the review of the drive, the graph increases smoothly all the way to 16x. I tried several different DVD discs and all have the same results.

I am just really curious on how those people have their system setup properly for doing such test. Thanks.
