i really like IE8, but lately ive been getting a lot of "Object Expected" errors and I dont know how to fix it...

I'll try firefox for a bit... but I really need to fix my IE problems.

Just started. But you know what all you fools? Safari has had pr0n mode for ages so all hail Safari.

If you only use them as the base browser, I can see why Chrome might be better, but if you use AdBlock Plus, Noscript, FireFTP, IETab, Greasemonkey, and XMarks (formerly Foxmarks), then there's NO WAY IN HELL you will pick another browser. EVER.

If you don't want to bother with plugins and want to run any browser and block content I like Hostsman.
It is a small app that adds lines to the hosts file to block ads by changing their DNS . The app links to several maintained lists and updates it for you. Now you get ad blocking on anything run on the pc.

I wouldn't want a browser to be so inefficient that it would have to use 500mbs just to run. Especially on my work laptop which has 2gb of ram but I usually have other bloated software running too, RSLogix, AutoCAD etc. Browsers don't differ very much and if one used a lot more memory with little return than, yeah it would bug me.

when i have near triple digit tabs open firefox easily gobbles 500mb.
i have memory, i'm happy for firefox to use it as long as things remain snappy.

now i have the opposite problem with stuff like chrome where it tries its damndest to page sh*t out. if i get back to chrome and click on a tab after leaving it idle for a while it'll probably take a few seconds of harddrive churning before that tab actually shows anything other than a freakin blank page..

and plus, if you open a massive amount of tabs in stuff like chrome it'll eat its own massive chunk of memory as well. i don't because well chrome doesn't have script blocking/flash block etc to keep the mess down, and no tabs mix plus etc to manage such an amount of tabs without it becoming a mess. but theres no miracle, all the browsers can use a bunch of memory if you let them.

I've never really liked Firefox, honestly. I used IE7, but I don't much care for IE8, and I've been using Chrome almost exclusively since it came out.

I wish that IE supported SVGs, but other than that it meets all of my needs. I used to like Firefox, but IE7 was so much better than IE6 that I switched.

I guess I'm just one of the users who doesn't care about the ACID test and crap like that. Give me some basic CSS support and I'll be happy.

im trying opera out for the first time, seems a lot faster than IE8 but how do i get new tabs just by clicking on stuff like i did in IE8 where i could hold ctrl+click and a new tab would open but it wouldn't jump straight to the new tab?

I don't mind browsers using 500 MB either but when firefox starts to use my cpu like crazy making my whole system very sluggish then it becomes a problem. This is only after 24 hours + sense firefox has been open. Yes I have a lot of tabs open but I have 8 GB of ram in my desktop machine. This should not happen. Makes no sense why firefox has to slow down my whole system after having it open for a while.

I don't think you can yet. Opera is pretty nice though. Why not just right click on the click and choose open in new tab?
