I just finished (I should say my son just finished) our first build. Being new at this I would like reccomendations for a good benchmarking program. Also what are considered good scores for a syatem like this? My son does not want to OC since the thought of burning up several hundred dollars of silicone scares him.

P4-3.0 GHz
Asus P4P800 Deluxe
2 X 'Cuda ASAT 80 Gig HD's running raid 0
NVIDIA FX 5700 w/256 Meg
2 X 512 Crucial PC3200 DDR
Lite On 48x24x48x16 CDRW/DVD play

Coming from dell boxes the BIOS settings are a bit mysterious.

Thanks for the help:confused:

Well start with 3DMark03 that will tax your cpu, memory, and mostly your video card (even takes into account your sounf card also)
Then there is sandra that can test items by themselves, like CPU, memory, hard drive.

SiSoft Sandra 2004
Quake3 is the best benchmark for sheer CPU horsepower (on default settings)
UT2003 or UT2004 for video bench
3Dmark03 for overall..
